Welcome to SHOALHAVEN KARATE-DO.
We are a TRADITIONAL JAPANESE MARTIAL ARTS CLUB based on the TOU-ASA-AN style of KARATE, originally formulated by Gichin Funakoshi - who introduced Kara Te to mainland Japan.

Our main Dojo is located at the ILLAROO ROAD PUBLIC SCHOOL Hall - and we train there on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Our members are of various ages and abilities - and we focus on the "whole package" of Karate, not just a fighting art, but a method of becoming and maintaining flexibility, fitness and general well being. Much emphasis is placed on the safety of participants and we are not a "full contact" organization. However, we do practice practical self defence and realistic options for personal safety.
Being a TRADITIONAL form of KARATE, we also follow the etiquette and methods handed down from the original style - Discipline and Respect are of superior importance, above good physical skills and fighting ability.
